What is Idle Donkeys?
Idle Donkeys is a free idle game on Solana. You buy farms, hire donkey managers to automate them, and keep growing while the game runs without you. Managed businesses earn offline, and the last business in the chain produces real DKV tokens you can withdraw to your wallet.
The twist: managers are NFTs you can own. A DKV NFT manager takes 0% of your profit and brings trait bonuses that are written to the NFT on-chain, so it keeps its upgrades when you sell it.

Does Idle Donkeys have different skins?
Yes. The game has four complete looks: Classic, Cyberpunk, Steampunk and Halloween. Skins are cosmetic only, so they never change your income or progress. You buy a skin in the in-game shop, switch between the ones you own whenever you like, and can preview a skin before you buy it. See the skins gallery.
Do I need other websites to mint, stake or trade?
No. Minting, the Trait Store, staking, the Bonus Checker and the Recruitment Office marketplace are all built and run by us on idledonkeys.com. You only need a Solana wallet. DKV donkeys also trade on Magic Eden if you prefer, but you never have to leave our ecosystem to play, mint, upgrade, stake or trade.
What is Idle Donkeys?
Idle Donkeys is a free-to-play idle game on Solana. You start with one Hay Farm, hire donkey managers to automate it, and grow a 14-business empire that keeps earning while you are away. Own a DKV NFT and your manager takes no cut and unlocks real DKV token earnings. It runs in your browser with no download, on Android phones through the Android app, and on Solana Seeker phones through the Solana dApp Store.
Is Idle Donkeys safe and legit?
You can play without a wallet, so there is nothing to risk to try it. The team will never DM you first or ask for your seed phrase. Only mint and trade through the official links on idledonkeys.com, and keep NFT or token spending to what you can afford to lose, since NFTs and tokens carry financial risk. What is DKV, and is it the same as other “donkey” tokens?
DKV is the token and NFT collection of the Donkeyverse, the project behind Idle Donkeys. Several unrelated tokens use similar names such as Donkey, Donk or Donkey Koin, so always check the mint address before buying anything. Our What is DKV? page explains the difference.
Is there an Android app I can download?
Yes. You can get the free Android app straight from idledonkeys.com on the Android download page. It works on Android 7.0 and newer. Because it does not come from an app store, your phone will ask you to allow the install once, and the page walks you through it. You can also play in any phone browser with nothing to download.
Can I play Idle Donkeys on a Solana Seeker phone?
Yes. Idle Donkeys is listed on the Solana dApp Store, so Seeker owners can install it like any other app. You can also play in any mobile or desktop browser. See the Seeker page for details.
Is Idle Donkeys free to play?
Yes, completely free. You can build your entire empire, prestige multiple times, and enjoy everything the game has to offer without spending a penny. NFTs and shop items are optional power-ups, not paywalls.
Do I need a wallet or NFT to play?
No wallet needed to start playing. However, to earn real DKV tokens you’ll need at least one DKV NFT Manager. Once you have one, the DKV Token business unlocks and your in-game tokens can be exchanged for real on-chain DKV via the in-game exchange.
How do DKV tokens work — are they real?
Yes. DKV tokens in the game carry the same value as the real DKV token on the Solana blockchain. Once you’ve accumulated enough in-game, use the in-game exchange to send real DKV directly to your Phantom wallet — ready to hold, trade, or stake.
What do NFT managers do that regular managers don’t?
Regular in-game managers skim 20–60% of your profits depending on tier. DKV NFT Managers take nothing — zero skimming — plus they apply trait bonuses: up to +60% speed, +60% production, and −60% cost reduction for the rarest 1-of-1 NFTs. They also unlock the DKV token earning mechanic.
What is the Trait Store and how do I use it?
The Trait Store lets you upgrade the traits on your DKV NFT to improve its in-game bonuses. Use your DKV tokens in-game to fund the upgrade, then head to our own Trait Store to apply it on-chain. Come back to Idle Donkeys and the game automatically reads your NFT’s updated traits — no manual refresh needed.
What is prestige and should I do it?
Prestige lets you sell your entire empire once you’ve unlocked Business 12. You earn Crystals and choose one free permanent upgrade from 7 axes — Speed, Production, Cost Reduction, Resistance (fewer events), Repair (cheaper event fixes), Insurance Booster (weaker global events), or Luck (better odds of positive events). You restart with 200 Hay but keep Crystals, DKV, shop items, and NFT managers. Stacked upgrades make every run faster. Prestiging also unlocks Insurance and makes chaos events rarer.
What are chaos events and how do I deal with them?
After your first prestige, random chaos events can hit individual businesses (Gone Fishing, Striking Donkeys, Escaped Goat Rampage and more), cutting production or speed for 1–4 hours. Global disasters can hit all 14 businesses at once. You can repair them with Hay (halves the timer) or Crystals (instant clear). Buy Insurance on your most valuable businesses to reduce event chance by 10–100% — Elite tier gives total immunity.
Is there a limit to how much DKV I can earn?
Yes — a DKV earning cap prevents bulk farming. The base is 50 DKV/hr, resetting at the top of every UTC hour. Your daily cap grows permanently: each NFT manager you assign adds +48 DKV/day, and each prestige reset adds +10 DKV/day. The cap is never wiped, even when you prestige.
Does the game progress while I’m offline?
Yes — any business with a manager assigned keeps running whether the game is open or not. Log back in and your offline earnings are waiting to be collected. Offline earnings build up for as long as seven days away. DKV is the exception: offline DKV collection is capped at 4 hours per login, so check in daily.
Do NFT upgrades actually change the NFT on the blockchain?
Yes. When you upgrade an NFT Manager’s traits through the Trait Store, the new stats are written to the NFT’s Metaplex metadata on Solana, so the upgrade lives on the NFT itself, not only in our database. If you sell that NFT, in our Recruitment Office or anywhere else, the buyer receives the upgraded version with your trait improvements already applied. Your playtime can raise the value of the asset.
Where can I mint a DKV NFT?
Mint directly on our own Mint page. You’ll need a Phantom (or other Solana wallet) with enough SOL for the mint price plus a small network fee. Always use the official link on idledonkeys.com — never mint from anything shared in DMs or unofficial channels.
What is the Donkey Recruitment Office?
It’s our own player-to-player marketplace for DKV NFTs. List a donkey at your price, or browse and buy from other players. Donkeys are ranked by Bonus Score, not by rarity rank, because what a donkey can do in the game is what makes it valuable. You can pay in SOL, or in DKV for a small discount. The sale is a single transaction: the seller is paid, the fee and creator royalty are taken, and the donkey lands in your wallet. Your donkey stays in your own wallet until it sells. Visit the Office.
Can I make an offer on a donkey that isn’t for sale?
Yes. Open the donkey in the Recruitment Office (or find it with the Bonus Checker) and send an offer in SOL, from 0.1 SOL. An offer is only a request, nothing leaves your wallet. If the owner accepts, they list the donkey privately for you at your price and you complete the purchase. Offers stay open for 7 days.
What does staking do, and is it safe?
Staking locks your DKV NFTs to earn rewards every day, plus a share of any airdrops. Your NFT never leaves your wallet and we never see your keys. While staked it can’t be sold, but you can still upgrade it and use it as a game manager, and you can unstake any time. Go to Staking.
What is the Bonus Checker?
A free, read-only tool. Paste any wallet address or a single NFT address and it shows every bonus the donkey carries across Production, Speed, Cost, Repair, Resistance, Insurance and Luck, plus its Bonus Score. No sign-in needed. Try it.
